  •  Massive 11,000kg MBS Rated well beyond most 4WD GVMs. Ideal for heavy-duty recoveries involving trucks, SUVs, and touring rigs.
  •  Modular System Design Connect multiple MAXTRAX Static Ropes using MAXTRAX Core Shackles to build the exact length your recovery requires.
  •  MAXTRAX Recovery System Compatible Engineered and tested as an integral part of the MAXTRAX Recovery System for guaranteed performance and predictable failure behaviour.
  •  Lightweight & Packable At just 0.98kg, this rope punches above its weight without weighing down your recovery kit.
  •  Premium UHMWPE Construction One of the strongest fibres on the planet, resistant to UV, moisture, and abrasion for long-lasting backcountry performance.

How to Use the MAXTRAX Static Rope Extension

Step 1 Inspect Before Every Use: Visually check the rope for cuts, nicks, fraying, burns, abrasion, or melted areas. Do not use a damaged rope.

Step 2 Connect to Your Recovery System Attach to the MAXTRAX Hitch, another MAXTRAX Kinetic or Static Rope, or rated vehicle recovery points using a MAXTRAX Core Shackle or MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle.

Step 3 Build the Length You Need Link multiple MAXTRAX Static Ropes together using Core Shackles to reach vehicles further away.

Step 4 Add a Recovery Dampener: Place a MAXTRAX Recovery Dampener over the rope to reduce projectile risk in the event of a failure.

Step 5 Use MAXTRAX Recovery Tracks as a Ramp Deploy MAXTRAX 4WD Recovery Tracks to ramp the vehicle and dramatically reduce load on all recovery equipment.

Step 6 Clear the Area: Remove all bystanders and spectators from the recovery zone before commencing.

Step 7 Begin the Recovery. Gently take up all slack in the system before applying load. If unsuccessful, repeat with slightly more momentum.

Always use a MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle in the recovery system. If the system is overloaded, the Fuse Shackle is the designed failure point protecting your vehicle, equipment, and crew.

Rinse with clean fresh water after every use and air dry before storing. Inspect carefully before each recovery for wear, cuts, burns, and abrasion. Do not use if the rope shows any signs of damage or if the warning label is not clearly legible.

Safety Guidelines

  • The rope's MBS should be 2–3× the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of the vehicle being recovered.
  • Always match the rope rating to the lighter of the two vehicles in the recovery.
  • Only connect to rated vehicle recovery points — never tow balls, axles, or bumpers.
  • Read all warnings on packaging and attached labels before use.

FAQ,

Q: What is a static rope extension used for in a 4WD recovery? A: A static rope extension adds length to your recovery setup without stretch. It's used to bridge the gap between a recovery vehicle and a bogged vehicle, or to extend a winch rope when anchoring to a distant point.

Q: Can I use the MAXTRAX Static Rope Extension with other brands? A: The MAXTRAX Static Rope Extension has been designed and tested exclusively as part of the MAXTRAX Recovery System. Use with third-party products is untested and not recommended.

Q: What shackle do I need to connect this rope? A: Use a MAXTRAX Core Shackle or MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle. Always include a Fuse Shackle in the system as the designed failure point to protect people and equipment.

Q: How many ropes can I join together? A: Multiple MAXTRAX Static Ropes can be connected using MAXTRAX Core Shackles to achieve the total length required for your recovery scenario.

Q: What does MBS mean, and is 11,000kg enough for my vehicle? A: MBS stands for Minimum Breaking Strength. At 11,000kg, this rope suits most 4WDs and touring vehicles. As a guide, the MBS should be 2–3 times your vehicle's GVM always size to the lighter vehicle in the recovery.
