Product Description

MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes — The Recovery Rope Built for Real Recoveries

When you're stuck, every second counts. Don't trust your recovery to anything less than the best.

MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes are purpose-engineered for 4WD and off-road vehicle recovery, delivering up to 30% more elongation than traditional flat snatch straps. That extra stretch translates directly into greater kinetic energy — meaning more pulling power, less shock loading, and a smoother, safer recovery every time.

Whether you're bogged in deep sand, mud, or on a rocky trail, MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes give you the confidence to get unstuck — and get moving again.

Why MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes Outperform Standard Snatch Straps

  •  Up to 30% more elongation than flat snatch straps — more stretch = more kinetic recovery power
  •  12,000kg / 26,455lb Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) — rated for serious 4WD recovery scenarios
  •  Nylon 66 & Polyester construction — tough, abrasion-resistant, and built for the harshest conditions
  •  24mm diameter across all lengths — consistent performance, engineered for the MAXTRAX Recovery System
  •  Connectable — link multiple ropes with MAXTRAX Core Shackles for custom recovery lengths
  •  Available in 2m, 3m, 5m & 10m — the right length for every recovery situation

Part of the MAXTRAX Recovery System

MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes are designed, tested, and validated as part of the MAXTRAX Recovery System — a fully integrated ecosystem of recovery gear engineered to work together. When you use MAXTRAX end-to-end, you know exactly how the system performs under load.

Safety Notice: You must use a MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle in the MAXTRAX Recovery System during any recovery. If the system is overloaded, the Fuse Shackle is engineered to be the weakest link — protecting you, your vehicle, and your equipment. Always connect to rated recovery points only.

How to Use MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes

  1. Inspect before every use — check for cuts, fraying, burns, abrasion, or any visible damage. Do not use if damaged.
  2. Attach securely — connect to rated vehicle recovery points using a MAXTRAX Core Shackle or MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle. Can also attach to the MAXTRAX Hitch, other MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes, or MAXTRAX Static Rope.
  3. Extend your reach — connect multiple ropes using MAXTRAX Core Shackles for longer recoveries.
  4. Add a Recovery Dampener — place a MAXTRAX Recovery Dampener over the kinetic rope for added safety during the recovery.
  5. Use MAXTRAX 4WD Recovery Tracks as a ramp — dramatically reduces forces on all recovery equipment.
  6. Clear the area — remove all bystanders and spectators before commencing recovery.
  7. Take up the slack gently — begin the recovery slowly. If unsuccessful, retry with slightly more momentum.

Care & Maintenance — Protect Your Investment

MAXTRAX Kinetic Ropes are built tough — but like all recovery gear, they require proper care to stay safe and effective.

  • Inspect before every use for nicks, cuts, fraying, burns, abrasion, or melted areas
  • Do not use any component that is damaged or missing its warning label
  • Rinse with clean fresh water and air dry after every use
  • Store in a MAXTRAX Recovery Kit Bag to protect from UV, moisture, and environmental damage
  • Replacement protective sheaths are available on our website

Safety Recommendations

The MBS of your kinetic rope should be 2–3× the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of the vehicles involved in the recovery. Always match your rope to the lighter of the two vehicles in the recovery — this is your limiting factor.
